Where do you find 3/8 wide cut off rocks

Where do you get a 3/8" wide cutoff wheel rock?

Plug welds like this don't necessarily have to be ground down, especially if you're gonna use some kind of a sound mat in the car, it's acceptable to leave 'em up. You know, I thought I'd just give you a little view of what it looks like to level up the welds. Again, it's not necessary, but it's a step you can take. Stand by tools are always the same. It's the cutoff wheel with a 3/8 wide rock on there.

It's the first thing to level the welds with, three inch angle grinder with a 36 grit. Put my ear protection on, show you what it looks like. I think after that we'll just talk about what we've done, call it a day. Actually, it's a pretty good look. I like it.

I don't like it as well as I like spot welding, but this is a home brew project, so this is what you're gonna have to do. One thing you did notice, is how little work it took for the 36 grit to level up the weld after I used the rock. It's an economy thing, practice it, you're gonna like it. You know, I got a little dirty doing this job, and so are you. It is work, but it's totally worth it.

And this is one thing I know you're gonna thank me for. If you put a whole floor in your car, you're not gonna have to lay on your back and grind all those welds. That's a great look. It's a great repair. Come back to the shop.

We always have more to do.
